No Apple Tablet Yet?

What is going on with Apple? Dell is beating them to the punch in an area that appeared to be a lock for the Macintosh computer developer. Yes, Macsales.com makes a hybrid tablet from a Macpro laptop, but that is not the same. Their Modbook takes the 13 Macbook and 15 inch Powerbook models and soups them up into touch screen machines with touch, draw and write capabilities.

Now, even Dell, a pc maker, is doing what Apple should have done by at least fall of last year. The rumors have abounded, but the mystery machine has yet to surface. Maybe this year, but is it too late?

The second generation Dell lattitude xt2 looks like an awesome tool for architects and designers, as well as the rest of us. Don't trust me, take a look for yourself.

Other PC manufacturers have been making tablet computers for over a year, almost two years. They have had time to refine, and correct quirks. The first generation of a Macintosh tablet will undoubtedly have some issues to work out, as do the first of any model (especially cars). I like this Dell entry in the market. I am surprised by how lean, it looks, and the video at least shows a lot of cool touch features. Apple better hurry up, I still own a copy of Windows XP Pro.
